I just delivered this family photoshoot from Corolla, and I can’t help but reflect on what an interesting fall it’s been here in the Outer Banks. We’ve had everything — from 80-degree sunny days to sudden storms and unstoppable winds. I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but that’s exactly what fall here is famous for. Still, even with all the unpredictability, this evening turned out to be absolute perfection.
We truly had one of those golden fall days that make you pause and take it all in — the warmth, the laughter, and the light that wraps around everyone just right. This family filled the beach with so much joy that it was impossible not to smile behind the camera. Their energy, connection, and playfulness reminded me why I love what I do so much.
What stood out the most to me during this session was the love that surrounds this family. You could feel it in every hug, every laugh, and every shared look. The Hawaiian grandparents, so full of warmth and joy, soaked up every moment with their grandbabies and their kids. It was so special to see them all together — generations intertwined, hearts so connected.
And what makes this family even more amazing is how close they all are. They’re not just family — they’re truly best friends.
